35 years ago, after restraints regarding journalistic integrity were lifted, a partisan asshole started talking shit and was well funded for it. That asshole is Rush Limbaugh. Eventually other people realized how well paid this guy was and wanted to do the same. For very rich people on the Right, keeping people blinded to the truth kept them flush with numbers and actually saved them a TON of money!
Now their mistruths have encroached upon open ignorance. "Pedophile Democrat Cannibals" and "philanthropists like Bill Gates and George Soros lulling us all into a false sense of security so they can spring their trap and make us part of their new world order of Socialists (*who are also somehow dictators)"
What does this ludicrous misinformation serve? Well. Imagine me telling you that the Koch family has engaged in a fear campaign to shut down Canadian gas and oil by riling up environmentalists as their unwitting foot soldiers? That sounds pretty silly, doesn't it? Except that it's true.
By flooding the information network with ludicrous information, the ludicrous real is actually allowed to operate invisibly. So what can you believe!?
Good question. The first question you need to ask in order to answer that is "Who is supposedly doing this...and what is their motivation?" Lets leave the "Pedophile Cannibal" to the fairy tales, shall we? There are two basic motivations: 1) To serve the self. 2) To leave a legacy.
Billionaires on the Right have one motivation: The Self. Billionaires on the Left are all about leaving a legacy. This is very basic stuff. Tucker Carlson or one of those other condescending idiot talking heads have been trying to promote that the Left are the 'Fascists'... except under the name "Communists" or "Socialists". They even tried to push the nonsense that the Nazi were "Socialists" because "It's right there in the name". They have so many people's heads twisted around with their lies that people don't know their Right from their Left anymore. The following are questions you didn't even know to ask that are a complete distortion of the truth:
1) Were the NAZI Socialists? No. Hitler took the over the party that had gained traction with the lower middle class and worker class who were suffering after WW1. Though originally a Socialist party, by 1933 he had transformed it into a fascist party but still kept the name as he became Chancellor of Germany. Nazi according to Britannica
2) Will going Left risk us of becoming a Socialist Country? No. The US is so far to the Right that it is more in danger of becoming fascist. The things we think of when we think of "Socialism" and "Communism" are actually a thoroughly broken or deceptive form of govt. The CCP for instance, is a two tiered system with very aggressive corporate interests working in conjunction with a corrupt govt. in order to value and devalue their own currency and get an edge in the global market. The lower levels are discouraged from ambition while being forced to serve. (So, basically, Fascism)
Real Communism can't exist. All efforts to try have been so autocratic (Right Wing) in practice that they cannot even remotely be considered Left Wing. You would stand a better chance of us all turning into unicorns than Communists.
The furthest Left any country has ever gone is a "True Democracy" and very few places can pull that off.
3) What is Leftist as opposed to Rightist, really? Simply put, Left is about resources for people while the Right is about Resources for the rich and corporations. A balance is needed. Currently, in the US, the balance is faltering and resources have been far too lop sided to the Right.
4) But if the "Socialist" goons take over, they will control what we say and what we think!!! No one gives a shit about what you think (I know that's harsh but it's the truth)...except to sell you stuff...or to pull one over on you as in the case of the Republican Billionaires. That far Left stuff is a social impetus not a political one. Trust me, the middle left hate their nonsense as much as you do.
5) Biden stole the vote from Trump!!! It has been 4 years worth of Trump's smoke and mirrors. If you don't see any of it? Then you have been watching Right wing propaganda pretending to be news. 60/60 courts ruled in favor of the vote being legit...including the SC that Trump stacked. Trump tried to cheat before the election. He even tried to cheat after under the ruse of "Finding election fraud" while trying to coerce Secretaries of State as well as Governors to cheat on his behalf and employing prostitutes to testify in court. You have to ask yourself the question: Were all those people corrupt against Trump... or was Trump, a known cheater and grifter trying to cheat? If you see the logic, the truth becomes quite clear.
6) Aren't Right Wing Billionaires our friends? Like Trump, the only thing they care about is themselves. You are a means to that end. Nothing more. During the time of the Industrial Revolution, children as young as 6 were working in dirty, dangerous factories 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. They were paid just enough to live. That is literally what soulless autocrats would do if they could. These are not nice people...and the talking heads at Fox News are their lying mouth pieces. You would do well to believe nothing they say. The Right wing controls at least 50 "Think Tanks" which have one goal in mind "How to control you". They do this through image branding, spinning truth and social media. They use social media, in fact, to study your reaction to different stimulus... all for their research. Sounds scary? It is. The recent troubles are, in fact, testament to their "Success". It isn't going to stop. We all have to wise up. The best way to do that is to instill restrictions on sensationalist "news", and promote education with emphasis on critical thinking.
